Bangladesh Inflation Driven By Structural Weaknesses, Policy Challenges, Says Report

A report by Bangladesh-based The Business Standard said persistent inflation in Bangladesh is linked to structural economic weaknesses, including supply-chain issues, weak competition and fiscal pressures. Citing ADB forecasts, it said inflation could remain elevated at 8.7% in fiscal 2025-26 and 9% in 2026-27, with food prices, currency depreciation and fuel costs adding pressure.
