Bosses do not promote hard working employees: Career coach explains the qualities they actually look for before promoting a worker
Career coach Freyaz says working hard or putting in long hours does not automatically lead to a promotion. She argues that employees are more likely to move up when managers trust them to meet deadlines, communicate clearly, solve problems, accept feedback and make decisions independently. Her advice is to focus less on proving how busy or tired you are and more on becoming someone the organisation can rely on with greater responsibility.
