Centre extends AFSPA in parts of Manipur, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh for six months

The Centre has announced an extension of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act in several northeastern states. The law has been extended for six months in specified regions of Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, and Manipur. In Manipur, the disturbed area declaration covers the entire state except certain police station jurisdictions. Nine districts of Nagaland and certain districts of Arunachal Pradesh are also included under AFSPA.
