Cyberabad civic body disposes complaint over alleged illegal penthouse in Neknampur

HYDERABAD: The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) has disposed of a Prajavani grievance alleging unauthorised terrace construction and change of usage at Plot No.116, H Block, Alkapur Township, Road No.4, Neknampur. The complaint alleged that additional habitable space was being constructed [...] <p data-start="286" data-end="508"><strong data-start="286" data-end="300">HYDERABAD:</strong> The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) has disposed of a Prajavani grievance alleging unauthorised terrace construction and change of usage at Plot No.116, H Block, Alkapur Township, Road No.4, Neknampur.</p> <p data-start="510" data-end="768">The grievance was filed by Mamilla Venkateswarlu on August 17, 2026, with complaint ID 1708266068217. The complaint alleged that additional habitable space was being constructed on the terrace of an existing residential stilt-plus-four-upper-floors building.</p> <p data-start="770" data-end="996">The complainant alleged that the terrace or penthouse construction was not covered by the sanctioned building plan. He also alleged that painting, tiling and finishing work continued even after the authorities issued a notice.</p> <p data-start="998" data-end="1247">The complaint further alleged that the premises were being used for paying guest or short-term rental and commercial purposes. It also raised objections to the alleged conversion of stilt parking and sought immediate action against the construction.</p> <p data-start="1249" data-end="1510">CMC officials said they inspected the site and noticed unauthorised construction and deviations. The Narsingi Circle-45 Town Planning Section subsequently issued a show-cause notice on July 21, 2026, asking the concerned owner to explain the alleged violations.</p> <p data-start="1512" data-end="1844">The civic body said it later passed a speaking order on August 12, 2026, after following due procedure. Further action has been initiated under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Act, 1955, applicable building bye-laws and the Telangana State Building Permission Approval and Self-Certification System (TS-bPASS) Act, 2020.</p> <p data-start="1846" data-end="2073">In a grievance disposal letter dated August 22, 2026, the Deputy Commissioner of Narsingi Circle-45 said the complaint was being disposed of as action had already been initiated through the show-cause notice and speaking order.</p> <p data-start="2075" data-end="2172">The official said further action, wherever warranted under the rules, would be taken accordingly.</p>
