Div Com Directs Departments to Expedite AIIMS Awantipora Services Rollout

Srinagar, September 25:Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg on Friday reviewed the preparedness for the timely rollout of healthcare services at AIIMS Awantipora, with directions to concerned departments to resolve all pending issues on priority. Chairing a meeting to assess the operational readiness of the institute, the Divisional Commissioner reviewed key matters including electricity supply for the water supply system, commissioning of the dedicated power sub-station, land-related issues and fire safety arrangements. Garg directed the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department and Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) to resolve pending inter-departmental issues by Monday and ensure uninterrupted electricity supply for the water supply system. Regarding the dedicated power sub-station, he directed KPDCL to issue the requisite No Objection Certificate (NOC) to the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) at the earliest to facilitate uninterrupted power supply to the institute. The Divisional Commissioner also asked the Deputy Commissioner, Pulwama, to extend necessary assistance and guidance to CPWD engineers for expediting the resolution of land-related issues concerning the facility. To ensure convenient access for patients and visitors, the DC Pulwama was further directed to make adequate arrangements for transportation of the general public up to the entrance of AIIMS Awantipora. On fire safety certification, Garg directed the concerned officers to conduct a joint inspection of the facility and ensure issuance of the requisite NOC by October 5. The meeting was attended by the Executive Director, AIIMS Awantipora, SSP Traffic and concerned officers and engineers from PHE, KPDCL and various wings of CPWD. The directions were aimed at clearing the remaining bottlenecks and ensuring the timely commencement of healthcare services at AIIMS Awantipora from October 31.
