He took charge on September 25 in the presence of Police Commissioner S. Devadatta Singh. The new DCP identified law and order, VIP security, cybercrime, and reducing violence against women and children as key challenges. He also held one-to-one discussions with police station officers and stressed people-friendly policing and faster investigations. Vivek, who previously served as SP, Berhampur, has also served in Rayagada and other Odisha assignments.
