[...]<strong>HYDERABAD:</strong> The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) rescued a 40-year-old man who became trapped between a lift and the wall of a three-storey building at Anjaneya Nagar in Moosapet on Sunday. Murali was trying to step out of an old, grilled lift on the second floor when the lift suddenly moved upwards. His leg became trapped between the lift grille and the wall. The incident came to the HYDRAA control room at 09.15 IST. A Disaster Response Force (DRF) team led by HYDRAA marshal JDV Prasad reached the spot by 09.30 IST. <h2>Rescue team spends about 90 minutes freeing trapped man</h2> Murali had boarded the lift from the ground floor along with his wife. As the lift reached the second floor, he began stepping out. At that moment, a person on the third floor pressed the lift button. The lift moved up within seconds while one of Murali’s legs was inside the lift and the other was on the second floor. His leg became trapped in the lift grille. His wife, who was inside the lift, raised an alarm, prompting apartment residents to attempt a rescue. When their efforts failed, residents alerted the HYDRAA control room. After informing the Sanathnagar fire staff, the team used a hydraulic cutter to complete the rescue, he added. The operation lasted about 90 minutes. At 10.50 IST, the team pulled Murali out and shifted him to a nearby hospital. Murali suffered a fractured leg after it was crushed between the lift and the wall. Sanathnagar Fire Station personnel and HYDRAA DRF members JDV Prasad, Errasani Anil Kumar, Jamme Ramesh, Veeta Ramesh and Pallikamiti Gopi, along with police constable Naresh, took part in the rescue operation.
