Hyundai Motor India Q2 revenue crosses Rs 20,000 crore; vehicle sales rise 15%
New Delhi: Hyundai Motor India on October 28 reported consolidated revenue of Rs 20,696 crore for the second quarter of FY27, up 18.5% from Rs 17,461 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The company recorded its highest-ever quarterly vehicle sales of 2,19,072 units, reflecting a 15% year-on-year increase and 23% sequential growth. Domestic sales volumes rose 19% year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter. Rural penetration reached an all-time high of 26.6%, while CNG vehicles accounted for a record 19.1% of quarterly sales. Exports increased 4% year-on-year and 38% compared with the previous quarter. Despite the increase in revenue and vehicle sales, consolidated profit after tax declined to Rs 1,196 crore from Rs 1,572 crore in the year-ago quarter. EBITDA stood at Rs 1,975 crore, compared with Rs 2,429 crore in Q2 FY26. The EBITDA margin declined to 9.5% from 13.9% a year earlier, although it improved from 9.3% in the preceding quarter. Commenting on the results, Tarun Garg, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Hyundai Motor India, said, "Q2 FY27 was a milestone quarter for HMIL, marked by record volumes and quarterly revenue exceeding ₹20,000 crore for the first time since our inception. However, elevated commodity costs weighed on the quarter's profitability."
