IIT Bombay student Sahil Wakode’s death has triggered protests on and around the campus, with his family alleging caste-based harassment and demanding action against those named in the FIR. Mumbai Police have registered a case invoking provisions of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and abetment of suicide, while the investigation has been transferred to the Mumbai Crime Branch.
