Mumbai Crime: 23-Year-Old Man Takes ₹60K Loan, Loses ₹56 Lakh After Scammers Threaten To Leak Morphed Photos

A 23-year-old Nanded man seeking a ₹60,000 loan was allegedly trapped in an 18-month cyber extortion scam. After repaying the loan, scammers accessed his phone, morphed photos of his relatives and threatened to circulate them. Fearing defamation, he made 255 payments and lost over ₹56 lakh from his family’s savings.
