Mumbai RTOs inspected 427 ambulances between January and August 2026 and found 82 violating rules, with fines exceeding Rs 79,000. Vadala recorded the highest violations at 36, while Andheri imposed the highest fine of Rs 46,000. Checks covered vehicle fitness, permits, safety equipment, AIS-125 standards and emergency systems.
