Conservative commentator Tucker Carlson has sharply escalated his criticism of Donald Trump as the U.S. president hosted Chinese President Xi Jinping at the White House. In an interview with NPR’s Steve Inskeep, Carlson said Trump “should have been removed from office” and argued that members of the Cabinet should have invoked the 25th Amendment over Trump’s remarks about Iran and nuclear threats. Carlson also said Trump should have been “bundled up and taken out,” calling the alleged conduct “a crime” and adding, “There’s no greater crime than that.” His comments came after Trump said at the United Nations General Assembly that he faced a “big decision” over whether to reach a deal with Iran or “annihilate” the Islamic Republic.
