Prime Minister Narendra Modi is travelling from Uzbekistan to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, to attend the 26th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit from August 31 to September 1, 2026. The summit also marks 25 years of the SCO.Modi began his four-day Central Asia visit with a state visit to Tashkent, where he held talks with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on trade, investment, defence, digital connectivity, energy and education. India and Uzbekistan have also agreed to further strengthen their strategic partnership.In Bishkek, Modi is expected to highlight India's priorities of Security, Connectivity and Opportunity, while calling for stronger cooperation against terrorism, separatism and extremism.The SCO summit is set to bring together major regional leaders, including Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
