Renewable energy could cut electricity tariffs for small, medium steel units by 34%: Report
India’s small and medium steel units could slash electricity tariffs by up to 34% by switching to renewable energy, saving Rs 2.2-2.4 crore annually. Raipur, Belagavi, Shimoga, Rajkot and Bhavnagar top the renewable energy attractiveness index for secondary steel clusters. The shift cuts costs and carbon emissions, with payback in just two years, says a new CII-WWF report.
