Supreme Court declines to intervene in Raidurgam land auction

Hyderabad : The Supreme Court has declined to intervene in the auction of land at Raidurg Panmaktha and said any dispute should be pursued before the high court. A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant said it would not interfere with the notification issued by the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation [...] <p class="isSelectedEnd"><strong>Hyderabad :</strong> The Supreme Court has declined to intervene in the auction of land at Raidurg Panmaktha and said any dispute should be pursued before the high court.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant said it would not interfere with the notification issued by the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) for the auction.</p> <h2>TSIIC fixes ₹175 crore minimum price per acre</h2> <p class="isSelectedEnd">TSIIC had issued a notification to auction about 11 acres spread across two survey numbers at Raidurg Panmaktha. The minimum price was fixed at ₹175 crore per acre.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Juvvadi Pranaya Simha Rao filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court challenging the auction.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Appearing for the petitioner, senior advocate Neeraj Kishan Kaul told the bench that the Supreme Court had earlier stayed the auction of land at Kancha Gachibowli and directed that the land be protected. He argued that the same land was now being put up for auction.</p> <h2>State says auction land is five km away</h2> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, appearing for the state government, argued that the petitioner was misleading the court. He said the land covered by the earlier proceedings was unrelated to the land now notified for auction.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">The state government told the court that the land proposed for auction was about 5 km from Kancha Gachibowli.</p> Taking note of the state government's submissions, the Chief Justice-led bench said it would not interfere with the TSIIC notification. It also declined to entertain the petition further.
