Surinder Koli dead: Nithari case saw death sentences and 13 acquittals before Supreme Court found evidence too weak, probe deeply flawed and the identity of the actual perpetrator unestablished

Surinder Koli, acquitted in all Nithari killings cases, died by suicide in Haridwar. He was found hanging at his rented tea stall on Friday morning. Koli had been acquitted in all thirteen cases linked to the notorious Nithari episode. The Supreme Court had cleared him in the final case in November 2025. He had recently begun rebuilding his life after his release from jail.
