Tear Gas, Water Cannons Used On Qaumi Insaaf Morcha Protesters In Chandigarh; Punjab Bandh Called On August 21

Chandigarh Police used tear gas shells and water cannons to disperse Qaumi Insaaf Morcha supporters during a march towards Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria’s residence on Saturday. Protesters demanding release of Sikh prisoners attempted to breach barricades near Lok Bhavan. The morcha later announced a Punjab Bandh on August 21 over the issue.
