Officials said Jayesh Arvind Jain was running the shop without a valid drug licence. They found 32 varieties of medicines stocked for sale, including antibiotics, antihypertensives, antifungal drugs, analgesics and other medicines. Expired medicines were also found among the stocks, which officials seized during the raid. <h3>Samples lifted for analysis, further action to follow</h3> Officials lifted samples of the medicines for analysis. TG SAFE said further investigation would be conducted and action taken under the law. Assistant Director, Secunderabad, T. Rajamouli, Drugs Inspectors P. Renuka of Musheerabad, G. Anil of Malakpet and M. Surendranath of Begumpet conducted the raid. TG SAFE also warned wholesalers and dealers against supplying medicines to shops operating without valid drug licences. It said such suppliers could also face action under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. The authority said wholesalers and dealers must ensure that recipient entities have valid drug licences before supplying medicines to them. Stocking drugs for sale without a drug licence is punishable under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, with imprisonment of up to five years, the authority said. TG SAFE said it issues drug licences for stocking and selling medicines in accordance with the provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. The public can report complaints about illegal activities involving medicines and suspected drug manufacturing, including narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, through the TG SAFE Drugs Wing toll-free number <strong>1800-599-6969</strong>. The number is operational from 10.30 am to 5 pm on all working days.
