New Delhi Aug 23 VicePresident CP Radhakrishnan will visit Musunuru in Eluru district of Andhra Pradesh on Monday to launch a popcorn maize hybrid seed and felicitate farmers an official said A statement issued by the Vice Presidents Secretariat on Sunday said âDuring his visit the Vice President will attend a programme at the Gourmet Popcornica Factory Musunuru where he will launch Indiaâs first nonGMO highexpansion popcorn maize hybrid seed felicitate farmers and address agricultural stakeholders and other participantsâEarlier last week Radhakrishnan visited Uttarakhand and told young IAS officers at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration LBSNAA in Mussoorie that leadership is not measured by power but by the ability to act ethically in difficult situationsDescribing character and integrity as the foundations of public service the VP asked officers to make their service meaningful by transforming livesReferring to the journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047 Radhakrishnan asked the officers to ensure that development reaches the last mile and every grievance is heard and every citizen is empoweredThe VicePresident also called upon the officers to embrace emerging technologies including Artificial Intelligence Natural Language Processing Machine Learning and Blockchain to improve efficiency transparency and citizen service deliveryHe emphasised continuous learning adaptability and being futureready and urged the young officers to strive for team excellence rather than individual or group excellence an official statement saidHe stressed the importance of building cohesive teams motivating colleagues and carrying forward good practices established by their predecessorsSpeaking at the completion of the PhaseII training of the IAS Officer Trainees of the 2024 batch the VicePresident said that civil services have made immense contributions to the countrys development and remain a vital link between policy and its implementation at the grassroots level IANS
