Lokesh reviewed the student's condition at Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru, where she is undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU). He interacted with the team of doctors and enquired about her health and the treatment provided so far. The student underwent a surgery lasting nearly 12 hours, and doctors are closely monitoring her condition. Student shifted to Bengaluru after initial treatment Recounting the sequence of events, Lokesh said the attack occurred around 10 am when a man allegedly entered the school premises carrying a chainsaw and attacked the girl. After receiving information about the incident, he alerted the police and district health authorities. The student was initially taken to a government hospital, where doctors worked for nearly eight hours to stabilise her condition. She was shifted to Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru after doctors determined that she was fit to be transferred, the minister said. Government promises medical and rehabilitation support Calling the student "our daughter", Lokesh appealed to people across Andhra Pradesh to pray for her recovery as she enters a critical phase of treatment. He assured her family that the government would provide all necessary support for her medical care and subsequent rehabilitation. Ensuring her recovery was both the collective responsibility of the government and his personal responsibility, he said. Describing the incident as extremely unfortunate, Lokesh said it should not be politicised. He stressed the need to strengthen safety mechanisms to prevent such attacks in the future. The minister also warned against harassment and indecent behaviour towards women, saying those responsible would face severe consequences. He assured that strict action would be taken against everyone involved in the Rapthadu attack and that no one responsible would be spared. ]]>
