Woman ‘beaten to death’ by husband over minor family dispute in Odisha’s Bargarh

A woman was allegedly beaten to death last night by her husband following a dispute at Gadatia Tikra village under Attabira police limits in Odisha’s Bargarh district , police sources said on Monday. Her husband Rajkumar Khadia has been accused of killing her. The incident reportedly took place in the village under Amalipali panchayat. According to the information available, a dispute between the couple allegedly escalated, following which Rajkumar attacked his wife. Bhagyabati sustained serious injuries and died in the incident. Police Arrest Husband, Question Him Over Alleged Murder After being informed about the matter, personnel from Attabira Police Station reached the spot and initiated an investigation. Police have arrested Rajkumar in connection with the alleged murder and are questioning him to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. The exact reason behind the dispute and the sequence of events leading to Bhagyabati's untimely death are yet to be ascertained. The probe team is also expected to examine other relevant evidence as part of the investigation. No official reaction from the police was available immediately regarding the fatal incident. Further details are awaited as the investigation continues. “A fight took place between the husband and wife last night. I don’t know anything about it as to why they indulged in an altercation. I only found out around 7 or 8 o’clock. I cannot say what exactly happened. A murder has taken place. Her husband has killed the woman, a resident, Sadananda Mahanand, said. “I don’t know why they fought and what had gone wrong with them. I have only heard what the villagers told me.
