APTEL Extends Commissioning Date for 20 MW Solar Project in Karnataka

The Appellate Tribunal for Electricity (APTEL) has extended the scheduled commercial operation date (SCOD) for a renewable energy project developer’s 20 MW solar project in Karnataka from November 3, 2019, to May 30, 2020.The Tribunal ruled that the non-availability of Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation’s (KPTCL) 220 kV Kudligi substation, including incoming lines and terminal bays, constituted a force majeure event under the power purchase agreement (PPA).
