Assam Teachers Await Salaries Amid Administrative Changes

In Assam, around 200-250 teachers regularized under the Special Recruitment Drive are facing salary delays due to bank account discrepancies. Education Minister Ranoj Pegu assured that most of the 15,029 teachers have received their payments, while efforts are underway to resolve the issues for the remaining teachers. The minister also announced changes in the salary processing system and the commencement of a long-awaited teacher transfer process. Teachers have raised concerns about transparency in salary disbursement and are seeking an investigation into the payment mechanism. Pegu emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring timely salary payments in the future.
