Assam: Two Teenagers Drown in River While Taking Bath in Salbari

Two teenagers drowned in the Palla River at Narsingbari in Salbari area of Baksa district on Monday. The deceased have been identified as Mun Das (15) and Diganta Kalita (15), both residents of Kahapara in Sarupeta. According to reports, the two teenagers had gone to the Palla River along with a third friend to play. The three friends later went to the river to take a bath. While bathing, two of the friends reportedly entered the river and drowned, following which police and residents reached the spot. A search operation was subsequently launched to trace the two teenagers. Their bodies were later recovered from the river with the help of residents and police personnel. Further details regarding the circumstances leading to the drowning are awaited. Authorities are continuing to assess the incident.
