Assam: Two Youths Found Dead in Roadside Drain in Sivasagar

The body of another young man was recovered from a roadside drain along National Highway 37 in the Betbari Disang Mazgaon area of Assam’s Sivasagar district on Saturday, hours after the body of a 21-year-old youth was found at the same location. The deceased has been identified as Manas Das (23), son of Ananta Das and Juli Das of Baliaghat. Earlier in the morning, police recovered the body of Abhay Hazarika (21), also a resident of Baliaghat, from the drain. Manas Das’s body was subsequently found around 5-6 metres away from the spot where Hazarika’s body was recovered, police said. Preliminary information suggests that the two youths may have been travelling together on an FZ motorcycle bearing registration number AS 04 AD 3552. According to the information available, Manas Das had gone with Abhay Hazarika to Dhekiakhowa Bornamghar during the day on Friday.
