Centre fixes 0.4% fee on UPI merchant payments above Rs 2,000; remains free for person-to-person transactions

India's payments authority NPCI said on Tuesday it would introduce a 0.4 per cent fee on payments to merchants above 2,000 rupees ($20.84), effective October 15, on its real-time payments network UPI.
