Double blow to BJP in Kashi, after teacher, graduate also lost MLC seat; SP's decisive lead in 50 hours of vote counting

BJP has suffered a big setback in the Legislative Council elections in Kashi. After the teacher MLC seat, Samajwadi Party candidate Ashutosh Sinha took a decisive lead in the graduate seat too, while BJP candidate Kedarnath Singh accepted defeat. Allegations of ruckus, dharna and rigging were also discussed during the counting of votes which lasted for about 50 hours. Of the 11 MLC seats in UP, BJP won six and SP won five.
