Guwahati: 30 Grams Heroin Seized From Tobacco Boxes, Peddler Held

Basistha Police arrested an alleged drug peddler during an operation at Notun Bazar in the Basistha area. The arrested accused has been identified as Nur Alam Ansari alias Babu, a resident of Milijuli Path in the city. According to reports, the operation led to the recovery of 30 grams of heroin , which was allegedly concealed inside two tobacco boxes. The officers also seized 11 empty vials, suspected to have been used for the distribution of drugs . A mobile phone was also recovered from the possession of the accused during the operation. Police suspect that Babu was involved in drug trafficking in the area and have initiated a detailed investigation to establish the source of the seized heroin and identify other individuals who may be linked to the network. The arrest comes as Assam Police continue to intensify anti-drug operations across Guwahati, targeting suspected trafficking and distribution networks. Further investigation is underway, and police are examining the seized mobile phone and other materials as part of the probe.
