India-Russia trade will get a new sea route! Preparation for MoU on Arctic's Northern Sea Route, first joint trip may take place in 2027

India-Russia trade can get a new sea route through the Northern Sea Route of the Arctic. The two countries may sign an MoU on NSR development by the end of 2026, while the first joint pilot trip is proposed in 2027. Russia aims to develop the capacity to transport freight up to 5 million tonnes annually through this route in the future.
