Jharkhand stir | Protesters close in on Assembly premises amid baton-charge, tear-gas firing, House adjourned for day

Thousands of job aspirants and students, protesting exam irregularities, faced lathi-charge, water cannons and tear gas as they closed in on the Jharkhand Assembly premises on Monday, several breaching barricades. Many protesters claimed they were injured in the police action, which took place when they reached the final barricade near Jagannathpur Temple on the road to the assembly, which is in session.
