Marital Rape Case: Supreme Court To Examine Legal Exception As Centre Says Criminalisation Is Parliament's Job

The Centre has told the Supreme Court that criminalising marital rape is a matter for Parliament and the executive. The Court will examine Exception 2 to Section 63 of the BNS, including whether prosecution can continue under existing laws and whether the marital rape exception is constitutionally valid.
