Over 15,000 security personnel to be deployed for September 28 Village Committee elections in Tripura’s tribal areas

Over fifteen thousand security personnel will be deployed for Tripura's Village Committee elections. Seventy-four companies of CAPF and ten thousand state forces are being mobilized. The Tipra Motha Party secured many seats unopposed before the polling date. Elections will now be held for nearly three thousand seats across the region. A total of nine thousand eight hundred twenty candidates are contesting the remaining positions.
