Rajasthan Rail Security Alert: Blast Near Sri Ganganagar Track, Major Train Accident Averted
A major security scare has emerged from Rajasthan's Sri Ganganagar district, located near the Pakistan border, where a blast near a railway track has raised serious concerns. An alleged attempt to damage the Anupgarh-Suratgarh railway line was foiled after an explosion occurred close to the tracks, damaging two cement pillars. Fortunately, the blast took place shortly after a train had passed through the area, averting a potentially major railway accident. Following the incident, the damaged section was immediately barricaded to prevent any further risk to railway operations. Police, Railway officials, Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) teams and other security personnel rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation. Visuals from the location show officials inspecting the damaged railway infrastructure and collecting evidence. A Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) team has also been called in to examine the site and determine the exact cause of the explosion. However, authorities have not yet issued an official statement confirming whether the incident was caused by an explosive device or some other reason. Officials have urged caution against drawing conclusions before the forensic investigation is completed. The incident has become particularly sensitive because explosives and a large quantity of weapons allegedly sent from Pakistan through drones were recovered in the same region a few days earlier. This latest explosion has therefore raised questions about possible security threats along the border and the safety of railway infrastructure. Investigating agencies are examining multiple angles to establish what caused the blast and whether there was any deliberate attempt to target the railway line.
