The Odisha Vigilance has arrested three panchayat-level officials in connection with the alleged embezzlement and misuse of more than ₹16.76 lakh from old-age pension funds meant for beneficiaries in Bhograi block. The accused have been identified as former Panchayat Executive Officer of Kakhara GP Subrat Kumar Pati, Khaira PEO Chittaranjan Bagsingh and Accountant-cum-Data Entry Operator of Jaleswarpur GP Gautam Dalai. They are accused of withdrawing money in the names of deceased beneficiaries. The arrests were made after the Odisha Vigilance registered a case in connection with the alleged fund misappropriation.
