In response, several Right to Information (RTI) applications have been filed to find official records, clarify the legal status of the plot, and learn why it has not been protected or fenced. Residents are worried about possible encroachment, and the RTI requests aim to make the land’s history and current status clear. The applications were submitted on Tuesday to the Serilingampally Sub-Registrar, Narsingi Circle Deputy Municipal Commissioner, Gandipet Mandal Tahsildar, and Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority. According to Ande Lakshman Rao, Vice President of The Citizens Council, who filed the RTI, said that a board marking the 1,450-square-yard plot next to Panchavati Colony as government land had been there for about 15 years, but was recently removed by private individuals. The RTI applications ask for details about how and why the board was put up, and whether any survey or boundary marking was done for this land. In the applications, Lakshman Rao asked for inspection reports, photographs, complaints or reports about the board’s removal, and details of what revenue officials have done. He also asked for notes or reasons explaining why the land, even though it is called government or poramboke land, was not fenced or protected. He has also asked for certified copies of important documents such as Pahani, Adangal, 1-B, ROR, ownership changes, classification, survey, FMB, and other revenue records from January 1, 2005 onwards that relate to the 1,450-square-yard plot. <h2><strong>High Court case adds to questions over land ownership</strong></h2> In connection with a writ petition filed before the High Court of Telangana Case, the applicant has requested certified copies of revenue records pertaining to land in question, indicating the purchase of approximately 47,600 square yards of land by Hyderabad-based Developers, along with records regarding permission granted to the developers by the Puppalaguda Gram Panchayat on April 15, 1974. The counter-affidavit and defense filed on behalf of revenue officials and the government, along with all annexures, have also been requested. Notably, the writ petition reportedly refers to several survey numbers. The applicant has also asked for the latest FMB, village map, survey sketch, Sethwar, RSR, and other records about the 1,450-square-yard land in Manikonda Jagir. He wants details about whether the land is classified as government or poramboke land, whether it is on the list of prohibited properties, and its current status.
