Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the Chandigarh Police and expressed confidence that despite being in the neighborhood of Punjab, Chandigarh will become the first drug-free city in the country. Chandigarh Police was awarded the President's Award for 60 years of service on Police Foundation Day. On this occasion, 141 new vehicles were added to the police fleet. Shah also praised the courage of the police in the era of terrorism, better traffic system and faster response time.
